The business which is easily recognised for its pink signs was started in 2004 by local man Michael Hannath, who has led and grown the company to become the largest and most successful Estate Agency in the local area. Hannath Estate Agents employs 17 people and offers a wide range of property related services.

The business has been purchased by 3 of the existing Management Team, Alastair Glass, Gary Little and Ciaran McKendry who between them have 38 years experience in the industry, 31 of which have been with Hannath.

Michael Hannath said “I’m now into my 15th year in business and 20th year of working in this industry overall. Opening and running this business is something I am extremely proud of. It has been a huge part of me and I have really enjoyed the journey so far but now is the right time for me to make a change.

I feel very fortunate and grateful to have the opportunity to sell the business and it gives me great comfort to be handing it over to 3 very capable and trusted colleagues whom I have worked with for many years and who have been helping me run the business for the past few years.

Business is all about people and I have been very lucky to have some brilliant colleagues and fantastic clients to work with over the years. It’s the people who have made the journey so enjoyable and the business
so successful”.

Alastair Glass who will take up the role of Managing Director said “We are very excited to announce the management buy out. So far the transition has been a smooth one as we expected, and everything will remain the same. The name, the brand and the people.

The business is in great shape, we have a strong team in place and are enjoying great success in all sectors so we have no intention of making any big changes. In fact, 2017 was our best year since the business opened and 2018 looks set to be at the same level so it’s an exciting time for us to take over, what Michael has worked so hard to build”.

So what’s next for Michael. . . “Well I’m certainly not ready to retire just yet - I will remain involved in a more limited capacity as a consultant to the business. I also have some other business interests which I intend to focus on now and am looking forward to working “normal” hours for a change and to having more time to spend with my young family”.

Hannath have helped over 350 families move home in 2018 already and are very much a client and family focused business. We have exciting new developments on the horizon and have put 30 client’s homes on the market already in October so Hannath is where it is happening!
