Where we store your information

The information we collect from or about you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff may be engaged in, amongst other things, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. Michael Hannath Limited will take reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation 2018.

Once we have received your information we will use strict procedures and security features to try and prevent unauthorised access. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee the security of information transmitted to our site. Any transmission is at your own risk and you agree that we will not be liable for any breach of security unless it has been proved that we have been negligent. We do not accept any responsibility for the protection of information or images provided to third party online sites that link to or from our website.

Any written data provided to us will be stored in locked cabinets, in a securely locked facility with an alarm. In the case of electronic data, this will be stored on systems which are password protected and encrypted servers. If there is to be any transfer of data, files will be encrypted and password protected.

Password Security

Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping the password confidential. Please notify us immediately if you suspect that your password is no longer secure.

Your rights

Your information in the case of a sale or purchase will be held for at least 7 years for legal, regulatory and accounting purposes and thereafter for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes of how we use your data. In the case of our professional services/ consultancy or Chartered Surveyors, this information will be kept for 14 years and thereafter for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes of how we use your data. For Lettings & Property Management, data will be kept for a minimum of 6 years. Each of these time periods will begin from completion of the most recent transaction and are set by our respective
regulatory bodies. Once this time period has lapsed, data will be destroyed securely. If data is in physical files, these will be disposed of securely and we will receive an itemised receipt.

You have the right to withdraw consent for us to process your information and for its use for marketing purposes. You have the right to withdraw consent for us to process your information at any time, however, if certain information is required to be recorded for our legal basis and according to our regulatory bodies, we will be unable to remove it from our database.

You have the right to withdraw consent for us to pass your information to third parties for marketing purposes. This will result in us ceasing to offer the goods and services to you.

If you no longer wish to be contacted by Michael Hannath Limited or third parties for marketing purposes, please follow the instructions in their marketing communications, or in the case of a third party, consult their privacy policies about how to unsubscribe from their communications.
